Balance and rates come from public nodes; transaction signing always happens locally. Lock the wallet and the vault is ciphertext again.

1. Keys never leave the browser
The seed phrase and private keys are generated, encrypted and used for signing only on your device. They are never sent to a server, never logged, never seen by analytics — because there is none.

2. Only ciphertext is stored
localStorage keeps a vault encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Its key is derived from your PIN via PBKDF2 with a high iteration count. Steal the file — get meaningless bytes.

3. Zero trackers and pixels
No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising cookies, no “experience improvement”. The only outbound requests go to a public Dogecoin RPC node and a price API with a fallback source.

4. Honest about the risk
Self-custody means responsibility: lose the seed phrase and no one — including us — can restore access. We say this in the interface, in Privacy and on the blog. No fine print.

Nothing. DogeVault has no server-side account: the wallet is a static site plus your browser. The encrypted vault lives in your device’s localStorage, and the Dogecoin network is queried through a public RPC node.
You can’t — and that is the honest price of self-custody. The 12 words are the only way back: neither we nor anyone else can do it for you. Write the phrase on paper and keep it offline.
Yes. Import via seed phrase or private key; the resulting address and the m/44’/3’/0’/0/0 derivation path are shown before you confirm — you see it matches your old wallet before entering.
The vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and its key is derived from your PIN via PBKDF2 at a high work factor — brute-forcing the PIN takes years. Nothing readable ever sits in the browser, and Lock instantly returns everything to ciphertext.
The interface does not break: the rate falls back to the last known value, requests run with timeouts and fallback sources. Signing a transaction is a local operation and does not depend on price feeds.
