Terms of use

Last updated: September 2026

DogeVault is free, open, non-custodial software for the Dogecoin network. By using it you accept the terms below. They are short because the model is simple: the keys are yours, and so is the responsibility.

What DogeVault is — and is not

DogeVault is client-side software: it generates keys, encrypts them with your password and signs transactions inside your browser. It is not a bank, exchange, broker or custodian. We never hold, control or have access to your coins, keys, seed phrase or password, and we cannot freeze, reverse or recover transactions.

Your responsibility

Self-custody means you are the only backup there is. You agree that:

  • You will write down the 12-word recovery phrase and keep it offline. Losing it means permanent loss of access — nobody can restore it.
  • You are responsible for the strength of your wallet password and for the security of the device you use.
  • You check recipient addresses and amounts before sending. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
  • You comply with the laws and tax rules of your jurisdiction when holding or exchanging DOGE.

No financial advice

Nothing on this website — including prices, charts, articles and glossary entries — is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Cryptocurrency prices are volatile; only spend what you can afford to lose. DYOR: do your own research.

Fees and third-party services

Sending DOGE costs a Dogecoin network fee paid to miners; the wallet shows it before you confirm. Swaps are manual: you deposit the coin you sell to a fixed network address shown in the app, and the payout is sent to your recipient address at the indicative rate from live markets (a 0.5% desk fee is baked into it). DogeVault never holds the funds in between and is not a party to that exchange. Blockchain and market data come from public APIs that may occasionally be unavailable or inaccurate.

Availability and warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it correct and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free code or the behavior of third-party networks and APIs. Your recovery phrase restores the wallet in any compatible software, independent of this site.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DogeVault and its authors are not liable for any loss of funds, profits or data arising from the use of the software — including lost recovery phrases, forgotten passwords, user mistakes, device compromise, network failures or the actions of third-party services.

Acceptable use

You may not use DogeVault for unlawful activity, including money laundering, fraud or sanctions evasion. There are no accounts to ban — this clause is about your own legal exposure, which remains entirely yours.

Changes and independence

These terms may be updated as the software evolves; the date above shows the current version. DogeVault is an independent project and is not affiliated with the Dogecoin Foundation or dogecoin.com.
